In the municipality of Marbella, west of San Pedro de Alcántara and just before the municipality of Estepona, the Guadalmina urbanization offers serenity and elegance, amid golf and beach.
The Guadalmina urbanization comprises two separate areas, split by the N340/A-7 road. Guadalmina Baja is the section between the road and the beach, while Guadalmina Alta climbs northwards from the road, up to the golf course.
Development on Guadalmina Baja began in the 1960s, following creation of Real Club de Golf Guadalmina—with its two 18-hole golf courses, called North and South—and construction of Hotel Guadalmina Spa Golf Resort, to the far south of the golf course, on the beachfront. This privileged setting offers the two basic ingredients that make up the Marbella coastline.
In the vicinity of the golf course, numerous luxury villas have come to predominate the area. But you can also find townhouse and apartment complexes, like Guadalmina Beach, Hoyo 5, Hoyo 15 and Hoyo 14 (the complexes are named after the nearest hole on the golf course).
The beachfront is also home to Guadalmina Beach Club, a restaurant next to the Las Bóvedas Roman baths, an archaeological site that dates back to the third century, discovered in 1926.
North of this pretty place and its combination of blue and green, and very near one of the three access points from the A-7 road, is Capilla de la Inmaculada Concepción chapel. Further eastwards, you’ll find Colegio San José, a bilingual private school, which caters for all stages of the education system, from infant to baccalaureate.
On the north side of the A-7 road, as you enter Guadalmina Alta, you’ll find Guadalmina shopping centre, with its supermarket, cafés, banks, restaurants and wide variety of services, to cover the needs of this area and of Guadalmina Baja, accessible on foot via an overpass, or by car.
Guadalmina Alta is also home to numerous luxury villas, which line the North course, not to mention apartment and townhouse complexes. It offers the ideal balance: the calm, natural setting of the golf course combined with low building density and elegant design.
Guadalmina Alta also has a hotel, located in the heart of the North golf course, Barceló Marbella, a welcoming four-star hotel, in colonial style.
Guadalmina, as you can see for yourself, is an urbanization offering the ideal infrastructure, sufficient to satisfy the needs of its residents, while combining tranquillity, relaxation, elegance and proximity to Puerto Banús and Marbella.
