Estepona, and specifically the New Golden Mile, located to the east of the municipality and adjoining Marbella, is one of the areas undergoing the greatest urban growth. Developments are based on a proliferation of high-quality urbanizations. Below is a list of the best areas to buy a property on the New Golden Mile.

The best areas to buy a property in Estepona

Atalaya

To the far east of the municipality of Estepona, at the start of the New Golden Mile, and above the Nacional 340, you’ll find the Atalaya residential area, in the vicinity of Atalaya Golf and Country Club, which comprises two excellent 18-hole golf courses.

Atalaya enjoys serenity in a highly consolidated area, with a wide and growing range of luxury villas and apartments, and assorted local services including a school, supermarket and restaurants, just a few minutes away.

Its enclave, five minutes from San Pedro de Alcántara, 10 minutes from Puerto Banús and 15 minutes from Marbella, is ideally positioned to become a favourite residential area on the coast.

The best residential complexes in the Atalaya area include: Las Terrazas de Atalaya, in Atalaya Alta adjoining the golf course, with modern and contemporary apartments; Benatalaya, apartments based on Mediterranean architecture; Arboleda, designer villas; Marques de Atalaya, Andalusian-style apartments; Cataleya, apartments in a contemporary style; Marques de Guadalmina, apartments in a modern style; Monte Biarritz, to the south of Atalaya, classic Andalusian-style townhouses and villas; and Centro Diana and Isdabe, on the beach side, offering family villas and houses.

El Campanario

This area is near El Campanario Golf & Country Club, between Paraíso Golf and Atalaya, and is equipped with all types of services, from the most basic to leisure activities. The clubhouse has a restaurant, indoor pool, gym and social club. Nearby, you’ll find residential complexes like Cortijo del Golf and contemporary projects currently being developed, such as Belfry and Villas Fusión.

Casasola

Moving down towards the beach side, below the Nacional 340 and after Guadalmina, you’ll find the prestigious residential area of Casasola, home to the most exquisite luxury villas in the area, in a safe and tranquil setting.

A good example of this is the Loma de Casasola complex, comprising deluxe villas in a modern style, just a few minutes from the golf courses and all the services.

Benamara dos Hermanas

Near Casasola and just after Isdabe, you’ll find one of the most traditional urbanizations on the New Golden Mile, Benamara dos Hermanas. Offering its own individual style, this development is predominated by low-rise buildings in white. It alternates between villas and apartments, peppered with small streets with squares, fountains and large gardens that extend down to the beach.

Benamara dos Hermanas borders other consolidated complexes, such as El Presidente and Hacienda del Sol.

El Paraíso

El Paraíso is a fully consolidated area equipped with every service. It surrounds El Paraíso Golf Club, which was designed by Gary Player. This urbanization is divided into three zones that extend from the beachfront up to the border with the first hills of the municipality of Benahavís. It’s important to know the difference between the three parts that comprise El Paraíso, to be able to make the right choice when you buy a property here.

Starting furthest from the sea, you’ll find El Paraíso Alto, located to the north of the golf course, where most of the properties are large luxury villas and apartments.

El Paraíso Medio, nearer the golf course, offers magnificent villas, townhouses and apartments. Finally, Paraíso Barronal, on the beach side, is also home to high-quality villas, townhouses and apartments.

El Paraíso

Among the existing complexes in the El Paraíso area, some of the best are Paraíso Green, Diana Park and Azure Villas. In the area closest to the centre of Cancelada, you’ll find projects currently being built, like SYZYGY Apartments and SYZYGY Villas.

Bel Air

Moving back above the Nacional 340, we’ll now shift our focus to the area between El Paraíso and Los Flamingos golf courses, which is called Bel Air. There, you’ll find townhouses, apartment complexes and several villas, generally in a Mediterranean style. Worthy of special attention are new developments like Belaire, which has a modern, contemporary style.

This is an area with a history, which is now consolidated and equipped with a full range of services, shops, supermarkets and restaurants.

La Resina, Selwo

Near La Resina Golf & Country Club, on the mountain side and just a few minutes from the town of Estepona, you’ll find the Selwo area. This residential space is home to properties that range from apartments and penthouses to detached villas in an Andalusian style.

Among the best-known complexes in this area are Selwo Hills, in the style of a Mediterranean village, Oasis17, a new project offering functional villas with a modern design, and Vanian Green Village, which has a modern style, based on the latest trends in new projects, and panoramic views of the entire coast.

Guadalmansa, New Golden Mile

Back to the beachfront, between the Nacional 340 and the sea, you’ll find a completely consolidated area with one of the most sought-after features among our clients: it’s near the beach. Specifically, Guadalmansa beach, at the heart of the New Golden Mile, Estepona. Here, you’ll find several carefully maintained complexes, whose owners’ associations have been established for several years, and where the majority of the apartments enjoy fantastic sea views. Among the best are Cabo Bermejo, Las Dunas Park, Menara Beach, Torre Bermeja and Los Granados Playa.
