San Pedro de Alcantara

This lively little town less than ten minutes west of Marbella and Puerto Banús retains a strong Andalusian identity and atmosphere. It offers the charm of shaded little squares, lively restaurants and cafés, and local shops where you can find just about everything you need. The inner town is a popular spot for a leisurely stroll, a light meal or a visit to the local market on Thursdays, while the beachside area and new boulevard park between it and the town also provide strolling promenades, children’s playgrounds, trendy eateries and sandy beaches.

Most foreign residents and homeowners focus on Guadalmina, a luxurious residential area just west of San Pedro. Both follow the contours of the local golf club, but Guadalmina Alta, on the mountainside, offers apartments, townhouses and villas in the medium price range, while Guadalmina Baja on the seaside is marked by large villas on expansive plots. An up-and- coming area popular with homebuyers and investors is Nueva Alcántara, with its modern apartments on the seaside expansion of San Pedro.
