Marbella Center

Though the entire area within – and sometimes even beyond – its municipal boundaries is generally referred to as Marbella, the actual town of Marbella offers an appealing alternative to the more resort and suburban areas that extend along the coast or follow golf courses inland. The centre starts at the end of the Golden Mile, where the Copper Tower signals the beginning of its main Ricardo Soriano Avenue. It forms the basis of Marbella’s main downtown shopping streets, but is also an area of town centre apartments ranged around subtropical parks and shaded little squares.

The town retains an authentic Spanish atmosphere complete with lively café society, local restaurants and tapas bars that stay open well into the night. The charming, ambient Old Town is another hub of tapas bars, cafés and fine dining restaurants, as well as interesting boutiques. While the centre of Marbella is also home to the Paseo Marítimo, a beachside promenade lined with ice cream shops, restaurants, lounge bars and of course sandy beaches.
